Sandro Gegechkori (born in 2000 in Georgia) is an outstanding representative of the young generation of Georgian pianists. He achieved international recognition and success at a young age, establishing himself in the worldwide classical music scene. Sandro has won several international competitions, including the prestigious Maria Canals International Piano Competition (First Prize, Barcelona), Euregio International Piano Award Competition (First Prize, Geilenkirchen), The Munz Award (New York City), Feurich International Piano and Chamber Competition (Grand Prix, Vienna) and Arno Babajanyan International Piano Competition (First Prize, Yerevan).
Sandro received a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School of Music, where he studied under the tutelage of Professor Julian Martin. His rigorous training has taken him to the stages of numerous world-class international competitions, including the Telekom Bonn Beethoven International Piano Competition, the Cleveland International Piano Competition, and the George Enescu International Piano Competition.
In early 2022, Sandro Gegechkori became an artist of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC). He has performed piano solo recitals in renowned concert halls such as The Royal Concertgebouw, Palau De La Musica, L’auditori, Mozarthaus Vienna, Gasteig Munich, Pallazio Euskalduna, and the Nanjing Auditorium of Performing Arts, among others. He also collaborates with the leading orchestras including Bilbao, Amsterdam, Granada, Madrid, San Cugat, and Tenerife Symphony Orchestras.
In 2023, Sandro won the prestigious “Forbes Georgia 30 under 30” award in culture and style. As the winner of MCB International Piano Competition, Sandro released his first solo album, recorded by Solfa Recordings.
